Wall mount air intake fan?

Looking to put in a wall mounted air intake fan for a 600 sq ft grow room now that cooler weather is here.
It will be rigged up to kick on a few degrees before the air conditioning kicks in if outside air is below 70 degrees.
It needs to be well filtered and seal off good automatically if fan is off.
Dose anyone have one like this or know of the model of one that meets these criteria?

@Jared AC Infinity makes really solid models however after those sizes you’ll want commercial sized exhaust or intake fans

I am in this same exact same situation. My research so far has shown me that it’s easier if you have a temp controller for the whole system, that can decide when to turn on which fan based on temperature at each intake (outside vs inside) and it will need to be able to close/open the appropriate dampener. Which means it would have to be pretty complicated with multiple temperature probes and a central controller.

If you go with a non-centralized system e.g. separate temp controller for each fan you still need a way to open/close dampers or you will have multiple inputs open and therefore air will flow OUT the open but non-used input.

There is a way to do it, we just probably dont know the names or words to goggle it properly. I’ve been asking people I know in HVAC, but so far no luck.

@Rye Yea at that point your best bet is to work with HVAC custom builders and design a system for your setup. Grower needs aren’t like the normal household environments so preventing mold on large scales with heavier intake and outtakes is a serious issue with High Humid Environments like cannabis. I would say maybe design a sketch of something you’d like and start asking your HVAC friends or Electrician friends what is possible and what would or wouldn’t work. Any build I see is almost always custom in a way.

Looking at AC infinity they have most of what i need just not as a single complete unit. So looks like i will be customizing as you mentioned. I was hoping to avoid that but am having a hard time finding a stand alone system with what i need.
Guessthere is just to small a demand for said product.

@Jared quest dehumidifiers has some new options just hitting the market, but they are designed for the commercial growers. Too big for home grows. Their new systems are all in one, temp/humidity/airflow/vpd, light cycle sensitive, multiple intake/exhaust/filter controls etc.

I will check that out Rye

this is my setup 5x5 grow tent w/4in AC Infinity cloudline t4. Super quiet and does the job. I know your setup is a lot bigger than the little 5x5 that I have but AC Infinity makes some awesome units all the way up to 12in I believe.

Actually i might end up going with a couple of the ac infinity 4 in fans plumbed into a 12 in filter box outside. It wont 100% take care of the cooling needs unless outside temps are pretty low but it should give me the right amount of air transfer.

Maybe look into a 10in or 12in lnline duct booster fan instead of a filtered inline unit. AC Infinity also has inline duct booster fans with temp and humidity controls or you could do both as I have and they will work together to keep proper air flow (transfer) and temp.

Thanks for this information, something new to look into.

Man @SL1CC your 5x5 makes my 3x3 look really small. Maybe I’ll up grade one day. My photo Granddaddy purple is definitely filling up my space yeah

Keep us posted on what’s growing in that 5x5.
Have a good one

Ended up putting in a 4 in bathroom vent fan in for now. Have a few lights on now and temps were getting in the mid 80s. Will definitely have to move up to a 12 in once all the lights are on.

Commenting so I can come back to this when I can get myself together. #wallmountairintake

Oh I definitely need it. I’m in between spaces at the moment and I’m not trying to add to.

Ac infinity. Stay away from vivosun they are noisy and stop working after a month or 2

I was going to order a AC infinity 12 in but they were out of stock. Went to all the hardware stores thinking they would have an attic vent fan but no luck. So i am back to waiting on AC infinity but that is ok i dont have enough lights on yet to need that 12 inch yet.

I feel like mine waited until exactly two weeks after warranty expiration to start the grinding noise. I cannot fix it, of course.
