MDBuds breeding project

Breeding project update.

Gold leaf is growing faster than expected. This thing is going to be a monster. Looking forward to my plans with it.

!

The White Widows are healthy. Almost ready to top and clone.

Agent orange is looking healthy. Not as robust as the gold leaf though.

I’ll be topping the Gold Leaf and Agent Orange early and cloning with the White Widow and flipping to flower as soon as the clones root so they don’t outgrow the White Widows in the tent. Probably going to have to top them a few times.

Just treated with my nematodes too to get the fungus gnats under control so I’ll be seeing even more explosive growth in the next few weeks. I’m excited to be this close to cloning and flower.

Happy growing folks. :v::call_me_hand::metal:

Also finally have the Red Poison germinating in the new tent courtesy of @LuckilyCharmed so I can get started on that breeding project. Have some Killer going (potent pheno of Skywalker OG) and Steve’s Alien Og going as well so I can throw them in the flower tent when they’re ready after the others are finished.

Pretty stoked to finally have this all going.:v::call_me_hand::metal:

They are looking gorgeous and I am looking forward to poking my head in to watch them grow! I’m going to have to live vicariously for a while outside of what I started until moving day.

PS: A couple of pics didn’t finish uploading. :v:t2:

@kmac03 Thank you. Yeah I noticed they didn’t upload properly but they can still be downloaded. I think it’s because I edited text as the photos were uploading. May have messed up the link somehow. Lol

So I’m skimming through this as breeding is something I’m interested in, but the thought of breeding autos never once occurred to me, can u use any male or is there auto males? U may have covered this somewhere In here and I just missed it.

If you select ‘edit’ I think they will re-upload. Either way, they are awesome pictures. :v:t2:

@Eggs they do have regular auto seeds (both male and female) but they’re hard to find since most breeders and retailers only sell feminized auto seeds.

So for my breeding I’m using CS for feminized auto pollen just for a quick F1 auto and I’m using some male photo pollen for the other longer project I have planned. Making an auto with male photo pollen crossed with a female auto takes 3 to 5 generations of selective breeding to stabilize the auto traits.

@kmac03 I fixed it. It was my mistake. When I edited with text I accidentally moved the “!” In the photos around. Put them back where they belong and it’s right as rain. Lol

I just clued into the bookmark feature. Thank you for feeding our brains.

YES! I, too, learned that. I felt like I had won the lottery when I did. It’s the simple things.

So, I have done as you have suggested and my male is revegging very, very nicely. My female is still like, “Meh” and I’m unsure if she will ever grow further, but she does have some nice roots. Do you think she will need some assistance to go further or should I give up and call it? Maybe I’m just being impatient?

@kmac03 for the female I would just trim her leaves back a bit and feed her with some liquid kelp for some auxins to help her root. Less leaves to feed means she can focus more on roots. Maybe pinch off the bud too almost like topping her so you can get some new growth on top. Flowering clones usually take longer to root and grow because their hormones need to level back out first. Don’t be concerned if you see some new growth that’s all twisted and weird looking either. That’s normal for a reveg after flowering.

Awesome, thank you. You mentioned the kelp before, I should be able to search for it, right? I will definitely pinch the bud because that’s what’s been glaring at me all day, but then I thought I would kill her. Trim the leaves down to dime size or is that too much? I guess I’m asking for something other than a percentage since I cannot compute that properly.

@kmac03 you can find liquid kelp all over but I use the GS Plant Foods liquid kelp and buy it on Amazon. It won’t kill her if you pinch the bud since she already rooted. The leaves I would just trim to the edge of the root zone so it can get back to “natural” growth patterns. At least as natural as a clone can get. Lol

Perhap that’s my issue? The clone part. Okay, I will do the above and keep my fingers crossed. I appreciate you! :v:t2:

I saw that ! In text and was wondering. Lol

Not even 24 hours later and everything has already exploded with growth since the nematode treatment after the final pest test. Gnats are gone and these hardy survivors are the best of the best genetics wise and ready to start breeding.

Also, 100% germination rate on the Red Poison, Killer, and Alien OG. Tried getting a photo but they haven’t broken the surface yet but they likely will be later today or tomorrow.

I have a good feeling about this breeding project. Happy growing folks. :v::call_me_hand::metal:

@MDBuds Beautiful Group brother :v: Happy Grow Times  taking no chances on any pests

@DollarBill oh I chanced the pests. I’m brutal with my stress testing for breeding stock. Out of the 36 total I started only 6 survived the environmental stress testing and moved on to the pest test. I intentionally introduced fungus gnats for 4 weeks to see if they were pest resistant and they passed the test. Barely some wilting but they showed zero signs of deficiency and continued to grow. That’s a sign of pest resistance and extremely vigorous root growth. After they passed the test I treated with nematodes so they can be 100% healthy before I clone then flip to flower and start breeding.

What brand nematodes do you prefer?
