I got a new camera for my birthday.
One was a 7.5 wk harvest; the other is 8 wk. Both 11 day dries.
I chopped the Gelato tops, 9 1/2/wks. This is what remains.
Very nice closeups no microscope needed.
I may do the same and take the 2 main tops.
My error. That was taken with my new microscope. I just figured out how to get the pics on this forum.
I have no problem getting to sleep, so I take the main tops when they are ready for me. I have never gotten one of those harvests where the trichomes all turn milky at the same time. Even when I have waited for the secondary buds to get a good percentage of amber there are still clear ones in the mix, so I save the secondary and larfy buds for my wife and wait an extra week or two to harvest the rest of the plant. The micro really helps hone in on ripeness.
I checked out your topic and those two main tops would last us a year. LOL
I am guessing 7oz haul on both plants anymore will be a bonus. If it happens I will have enough from those 2 to last me 14 months.
Last plant, last harvest this grow. Last light, lights out now until tomorrow.
Yeah man sounds good, keep me posted on the differences: going to take mine down the same way will be my first time trying it in stages! So you ran with about a 2 week delay
Here is a pic of my harvest, 12 tops taken at 9 1/2 wks. 37gr. dried and trimmed with most of the seeds removed. I am curing for the first time using the grove bags. The grassy smell is just now starting to diminish.
That was the Gelato from Homegrown Cannabis which was a reward for choosing their preferred payment method. Best reward for a payment choice ever!
This next shot is of the Ruebud, 7 tops
Here’s proof positive that my seeds are viable:
Wow, has it been a month already?
I have all the tallies.
I got 100 gms of dried and trimmed flower. 27 1/2 from the Ruebud and 73 from the Gelato. I have still been smoking the early buds, almost done, and have not yet gotten together with my buddy who is an herb expert to test the cultivars. Soon. What I’ve smoked so far has been encouraging, though. Excellent flavor with the Gelato, the Ruebud meh.
That is rice in the seed containers to keep moisture from the seeds.
OK, I have stalled long enough. Here is the smoke report. First the Ruebud: I have been using it to mix with the Papi Gato for my wife’s evening medication and gotten great results. I use her harvest of both (secondary buds taken weeks after mine) for the extra cbn to help with sleeping. It smokes smoothly with no harshness and very little flavor. She likes it that way. It does a good job. By keeping some Papi Gato in it her leg cramps never happen any longer. My cut has little flavor also but smokes smoothly and has a nice effect. The flavor I get is slightly earthy and slightly fruity on the exhale. I attribute the lack of flavor to the excessive heat during flower.
The Gelato seemed to handle the heat with a smile . Both the prime harvest 9 1/2 weeks and secondary 11 weeks taste and smell like one would expect of a legendary cultivar. There is an element of the Thai that I grew from '78-'82, only it looks a lot prettier than the Thai. It also has a bit of fruit and spice to it. I know that folks are tired of hearing about Gelato, but I didn’t smoke from '89-'19,so I missed all that. Oh yeah, it has quite a kick to it. Breaking it up to roll gets the fingers really sticky. I know why it is in the genetics of so many strains today. I haven’t tested the thc in it, but I believe it to be around 20% or so. I now have seeds with Gelato genetics. Gelato x Meow Daddy (from MDBuds). I look forward to seeing what becomes of that.
The Meow Daddy is a type 1 cbd strain so I expect to get a good amount of cbd in the plants and hopefully enough thc to make it a fun medicinal plant.
Meow Daddy is a cross of Grandaddy Purple and cbd strain from MDBuds. The Gelato came from Homegrown Cannabis Co.
The Ruebud or BRB (Bloomington red bud) is of unknown origin grown by a buddy who left a male in his garden. I was encouraged to try it out and now I will see what comes of crossing it with the Meow Daddy.
Looking good From over here
