Well, if they were mine, I’d defoliate the bottoms. Otherwise, what is it you are thinking?

Good looking plants. What strains?

I am afraid of removing too much. I will go back and remove more. Thanks.

I think they look great otherwise. Are you trying to force them into flower? Do you feel like you aren’t doing enough? I’m just curious as to why you want a critique?

I don’t know if you can zoom in, but I’ve notice some of the tips turning yellow or even burnt looking. I’ve moved the light up another 6"s. I was just wondering if color looked good. I think I’m on the right track, but this is my first grow so I might be somewhat overly cautious. Thanks for the feedback.
I just defoliated the crap out of these girls. I am afraid of taking off leaves connected to flowering sites. Do you think that these 10" plants are kinda runty?

Still would need to know the strain to determine if they are runty. They look very good to me. I can see some of the burnt tips, some Ph fluctuation issues on the lower leaves but ALL IN ALL:
Good color, good size for 33 days but they do need some defoliation, does not look over or under watered, good tips and a pretty even canopy. Do you have tomato plants? Hard to tell but almost looks like Tobacco Mosaic Virus on one of the leaves. Make sure you wash hands after grooming your plants and watch them.

Personally, I never defoliate more than 40% (of the lower leaves) at a time. Wait 2/3 even 4 days to make sure they handled it well, then defoliate again. You do not have to strip them and you want fan leaves for Photo so they produce sugars for growth. I can see that the light can’t reach in to the inner buds / nodes.
I assume they are Auto’s because I can see some flowering beginning but a better / closer pic of the tops would confirm or deny that.

My problem is; do I remove leaves that are directly next to bud sites, or do I look down on the canopy and try to decide which leaves are blocking. I have done some defoliating about 4 times in the last week, and still, my girls show no signs of distress. They usually look great after a couple of hours.

Yes, they are all autos. I have brutalized these girls. I’ve done LST, fimmed one plant, I’ve treated them roughly, pulling them in & out of the water to trim and such. My wife and I are excited but always amazed at how much they seem to grow and spread out OVERNIGHT! If these six girls had hair, I’d need to give them a haircut almost every day.

I will upload today’s pics of them today & try to get a close up of a couple of plants, if you are interested in giving me some more of your ideas. And a big THANK YOU for your observations and ideas. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. And I want to thank everyone on this site, it is AWESOME :vulcan_salute:t6: :v:t6: :alien:  :sunglasses:

Welcome! If the interior of the plants are clear enough to allow air flow, you are good. We do not really want to remove those. You guys are in Henderson?

The last pic is a Blackberry Kush, the others are GDP AUTOS.
They are so bushy, I can’t decide which leaves to remove, this pic was taken just after a defoliation.

Only the lower leaves, leave the fans under the flowers. You want air circulation! Looks like your lighting is good enough as these girls are exploding. Less leaves lowers humidity too but do not strip them bald and continue 40% or less each defoliation.
I am in the northwest, near Alliante Casino, right off the 215.
I think there are some on this site who use DWC & aeroponics & top feeding. They will chime in. Sometimes you just gotta be under the right heading - like SHOW YOUR HOMEGROWN and DARKHEARTS and look under LATEST to see what is active.
I think you mentioned Henderson in one of your early / first posts.
I used to do DWC & aeroponics & top feeding years ago but am strictly a soil grower now. I am too old for that young person stuff. I am lucky I got the energy to babysit these kids every day

I feel energized by having to take care of the girls. 1st thing I do, even before peeing in the am is check on my babies.
