Are the numbers safe for feeding wasn’t sure about the sulfur in this product
Yes sorry that’s what I meant
So how’s things progressing?
@kmac03 lmao, sometimes I have to ask for clarification too, BUT, MDBuds is so awesome in every way. He’ll break it down as far as you need to get it. His papers , one I luv is on dosing & is easy to follow & clearly written. You will learn a lot from this young man.
Quick update. I’m back to growing and breeding after a long hiatus. Have my hemp cultivars sourced for my projects as well as some 1:1 cultivars from homegrown.
Currently have purple sunset auto (tester cultivar for homegrown), purple haze, blueberry, amnesia haze auto, grandaddy purple, and maple leaf going.
Not disclosing yet which ones will be bred in but I will continue the breeding series and have videos soon on how to choose breeders and how to choose cultivars that will mix well together for your desired effects.
Hey@MDBuds I got a question for you concerning genetics (kind of ). I grew a single Banner Fast Version, indoors last winter and got 3 mature seeds so far. There must have been a lone nanner that slipped past my old eyes. If I got seeds from a hermie, what will the seeds produce? More hermies, male or female plants? Will they even still be fast versions? So many questions, so little knowledge.
Keep up the good work and sorry for stealing your thread.
@Darodguy they will be feminized. You may have just let your plant go too long and it rodelized which is a common survival/stress response in cannabis if they don’t get pollinated. They will be what are known as S seeds or Self pollinated. They will be different combinations of the mother plant and if her genetics were stable all of the seeds will be fast version Bruce Banner as well. The only thing is you will need to watch them closer and harvest right in the 6-8 week window from flower because the offspring will be more likely to get nanners or rodelize sooner without needing stressors because of what is called epigenetic memory which is transferred to the seeds. Eventually epigenetic memory will become part of the actual genotype or permanent genetic code if continually bred and grown in that same environment.
Epigenetics are dope too because however the mother plant needed to use her genes to survive when pollinated she will pass that on to the seeds like a temporary ram/cache does for pcs to store memory for processes and errors to report bugs. It isn’t part of the programming/software yet but after analytics the data may be used to update the software and firmware to be more efficient.
@MDBuds I harvested at 8 weeks from flip, 7 weeks from first sign of flower. There was one night about a week into flower that I left a drop light on about 2 hrs after the timers were off. Other than that the only stress was the ph was high 7-7.3 for some of the grow.
Thanks for the response. So they should be female and could be the same or show traits of OGKush, Strawberry diesel, or anything related from her past genetics. Should be fun. Thanks again.
@Darodguy yes. They will still show possible combinations of each parent but since they are selfed they will only be working with the genes from that single mother plant so it will keep any dominant homologous traits from homozygous genes. The only traits that will vary will be from the heterozygous genes but eventually if you keep breeding it with itself everything will become homozygous recessive or dominant. Long story short it will have far less genetic diversity than the regular seeds or cross pollinated fem seeds.
This can be either a good or a bad thing depending on the luck of the genetic lottery.
@MDBuds Less genetic diversity could be a good thing if I really liked the mother/donor, especially if I duplicate the growing conditions to the best of my ability. I still have one cultivar from HGC, Gold Leaf Auto to grow, but I think that BBFV.1 will move up in the rotation after that. Thanks and good luck with your project.
@Darodguy yeah less genetic diversity can be a good thing especially if you’re aiming for a true breed IBL.
In reality getting a 100% true breeding plant (all exact same genes) would take years but if you just hone in 3-5 traits and stabilize those that’s acceptable as a true breed IBL as far as the market is concerned, purists aside.
And I still have 3 Banner Fast seeds from Homegrown plus 3 mature seeds from the harvest, so far. What fun!
