@Eggs As far as bud ripening, and adding flavor, molasses for plants is the best. I use Hi-Brix molasses. Its one of the only products I’ve ever used where I saw a noticeable difference within a day. Also, Atami makes a bud ripening nute called Bloombastic. That shit is expensive AF but worth every penny. If you have a small grow, buy the smallest bottle. Its super concentrated and goes a long way. Those two are my go to products that I’ve always had great success with and never any problems. Good luck with your next grow bro

this is my normal nutes, can I use them in conjunction? Also, flavor is unimportant to me unless it’s just extremely cheap, my goals are bud size and potency.

Yes. You can use the molasses and Bloombastic with your nutes that you showed. The molasses should be 0-0-1 with only 1% available potash. The molasses provides mostly sugars that help with trichome production and added terpenes which is flavor. The Bloombastic will help with fattening up your buds. If your on a budget, skip the Bloombastic and just get the molasses. My plants love the molasses. I only use it when they’re budding tho. I start my plants with MaxSea 16-16-16 for the entire veg and then slowly cut it back as budding progresses while adding molasses and Bloombastic. Around week 6 of flower I’ll cut all the MaxSea out and I just use molasses and Bloombastic until 3 weeks to harvest. Then flush the plants thoroughly. This is a picture of my chocolate mint OG from two years back that grew in a 100 gallon pot using the method I just descibed.

What is this talk about molasses? Is this just like molasses of the shelf at the grocery store? what brand or what not I want to try this and what kind of dilution do you do? Please tell me more! I grew up across the river from a molasses tank farm and smelled the stuff every day of my life for the 1st 16 years. I never knew what the heck they used it for. Just a little background.

@dmtscravey You need to use black strap or hi brix molasses. It’s unsweetened and adds carbohydrates and other nutrients to the soil to feed bacteria and your plant. It encourages symbiosis and the break down of nutrients in the soil so you can get the most out of your soil.

Don’t use the stuff in the baking aisle with added sugars and also when you do get some black strap or hi brix molasses make sure you get it organic and unsulfured.

Also, each brand has its own recommendations for feeding plants. The one I use is Earth Juice Hi Brix MFP. It’s great stuff. Smells sour as hell but the plants love it.

Superthrive Female Plant Hormones still exists out here :stuck_out_tongue:

@Eggs it’s anywhere from about $17 a quart to $50+ a gallon depending on retailer for the Earth Juice Hi Brix MFP. You’ll have to check online or at a dealer in your area to get local prices. A little goes a long way though. Well worth the cost imo. Some places you can get a 5 gallon bucket for $60 to $75. You just have to price hunt.

Listen to @MDBuds. I’ve use the blackstrap and the hi brix, and my plants seem to like the hi brix better. I always see a noticeable difference right away. I order mine on Amazon if my local store doesn’t have it. Check your local stores first. Support small businesses if you can

@DollarBill I used to use superthrive to start seeds and as a growth booster until I went fully organic. Unfortunately for me, superthrive doesn’t meet the standards for organic growing. At least not the ones in CA. I loved that stuff. :joy:

I’m starting to hate those OMRI people man. Earth Juice lost their OMRI status because they refused to pay the mark ups and play the political game so although Earth Juice is still technically all natural and organic some states won’t let you use it to grow medical because it isn’t OMRI stamped which is horse pucky. :joy:

Same here man. I remember when it was medical as long as you went all natural and no chems. Didn’t have to be organic and even some chems were allowed as long as they weren’t salts and they were derived from natural ingredients.

Now it all has to be organic and omri certified. I wonder if I can get away with a technicality because my bags and bottles of Earth Juice nutes are old enough to still have the OMRI stamp and they’re still good to use. :joy::joy:

Either way if I want to keep growing medical I need to find another nutrient system so I guess I might as well spring for the vegamatrix starter kit. :joy:

@Eggs CA has some of the strictest guidelines for medicinal cannabis. You can put almost whatever you want in recreational cannabis as long as it doesn’t kill anyone (to a certain extent as in growing with chems or not organically as long as it meets recreational quality standards). To label it as organic and medicinal it needs to be grown organically with OMRI certified or USDA certified organic products and it needs to be tested by an independent lab authorized by the Cannabis bureau to do the tests for heavy metals and other inorganic compounds and the tolerances for that are very low. Phase 3 testing is rigid. It’s a shit show. That’s also why true medicinal strains in CA are so costly right now from the clubs. They have to mark it up because the cultivators constantly face higher and higher costs. It’s definitely much cheaper to just grow your own. I try to grow it to state standards though just in case I can get a cultivation license for a dispensary.
