@Eggs maybe the uvb reptile lights. I don’t know if they’ll work but they’re worth a shot.

You can always put a UV screen under the light too to help filter out some of the intensity and UVB. I can’t remember their exact name right now but they’re just like the cloth filters designed to soften those tented lights used in photo shoots and film but for UV lights.

@eggs, you can also rig it at that distance but only set it up to do 15 minute intervals. 15 on, 15 off if you have a timer capable of multiple daily programs. That way it doesn’t burn from all the intensity but you still get that UVB to your plants.

I seen the reptile ones, I did email the grow light depot n requested that order be canceled…I’ll see what I can put together, lol I really really want some uv light now just bc its turning out to be difficult

Now you have me interested. See how this works? I’ve just completed Week 1 of proper flowering.

PS: My phone likes to make me sound extra special when autocorrecting.

May I ask how u use it? Light timer schedule and distance from canopy?

Yes, the uv lights seem relatively effortless to set up n use, I’ve always been more focused on potency and yield, this will be my first incursion into the flavor department lol my weed usually can run with some of the better stuff u can find on the street potency wise, but the weed man has ALWAYS had better tasting stuff than I. Let’s see ur baby, u said shes in the first week of flower?

Yes, officially. I flipped 3 weeks ago.

Ah! Very pretty, looks like u have the big 4x4, what lights and nutes r u using? And what strains do u have goin?

MARS HYDRO SP3000.

Reg seeds

Harlequin x Kimbo Kush CBD version (my brain is spacing on tech specs at the moment)

I’m using a mix of FF, Mother Earth coco, and sand. Nutes are what I have on hand, Canna A & B. I checked with manufacturer and they cleared for my soil mix, but I originally used it with straight coco.

Hawaii x Purple Skunk; two male clones and one female with a view to making seeds.

Sure you are. Rip the band-aid off. You will always tell yourself that, I promise. No one ever learned a thing before making a mistake.

hey, so I found this t5 reptile light with both uva and uvb, I was gonna get the small one its 15 watts, now please correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m thinking the low wattage will allow me to have the light closer to the plants, yes?

These lights r pretty cheap too, the smallest is 40$ and the biggest I wanna say is like 100$

@Eggs wattage isn’t a good indicator of intensity with fluorescent UV lights. Their intensity all depends on how reactive the gasses in the bulb are and how they’re mixed as well as how the glass encasing is designed. The intensity is also dependent on the wavelength.

UV intensity is measured in milliwatts per square centimeter or mw/cm2. Sunlight has an average UV-B intensity range from 60 mw/cm2 up to 400 mw/cm2.

So as long as you don’t exceed those intensity ranges you should be ok. I wasn’t able to find any spectrum or intensity information on those lights but generally reptile lights are safe to use up to just a few inches away from the plants in supplemental increments.

@Eggs I would also recommend acclimating your plants to the UV-B first. Start at just 15 minutes a day and lower the light a little each day. Then raise the light back up and increase to 30 minutes and do the same. Then 45. Then 1 hour. Once you reach 1 hour without burning or bleaching you’ve found the appropriate distance and have acclimated the plants to UV-B and you can start the flower flip and increase the UV to 2 hours the last few weeks of flower.

I use UV the whole grow to help prevent mold and pests too but also to keep them acclimated so that when I increase UV exposure in flower it won’t hurt yield as much so I get a good balance of yield and increased potency.

Why do I feel like I don’t know what the hell I’m doing now? :flushed: While you are talking about this, do y’all see a problem in this picture?

If so, will my making sure that light isn’t tilted correct it? I will not be doing so now because I’m extra special this Eve and am now blind. I promise I used to take good care of people at one time, just not myself.

Bad picture. I’m short, but that corner shot on the back forty is how far the table extends.
