Bruce Banner Fast Version /winter indoor grow

@SlingShot I’m not much of a dancer, but this stuff has me doing a jig!

@MDBuds I have a soil ph test probe. The soil (Fox Farms Happy Frog) mixed with about 20% worm castings tested at 6.8 when fresh. Mid veg it had risen to 7.4. That’s when I started testing the water, which was in the high eights. I use tap water and never had a problem before. I found a response by you on another thread where you mentioned using vinegar, especially red wine vinegar, and used that to bring my water below 7. At that time I also started adding molasses to the water, not a lot, only about 1 tsp per 1/2 gal. and that seemed to fix my soil ph problem. It was just a hint below 7 at harvest. I don’t do ppms or test run-off. I tried to keep my grow as natural as possible. The only thing I added was Flower Fuel during flowering, and never mixed it more that 3/4 strength, usually closer to half. I wasn’t concerned about getting max product, just quality.

And it sounds like you landed right on your target. Congratulations

@SlingShot Thanks Sling. I just checked out your last post on your thread and I will be surprised if I get 1/2 of one of your jars worth. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could legally send each other a bud so we each could share a taste comparison of our harvests? Maybe some day.

It is now the 6th day of drying and the smell is quite less intense. I’m keeping the humidity around 60% and the temp between 60 and 65, not perfect but pretty close. When I clipped Alice, one of the lower branches broke off, so I have been weighing it daily, and it only lost 13 hundredths of a gram. Tomorrow should be single digit loss, which gives me an indication of the final weight.
Remember all of those great colors Alice had; now she seems to be going all olive drab.

On another note, I got out samples of my other harvests and compared them to my 4/20 bud with my jewelers loupe, and the heads of the tricomes on the Banner are noticeably larger. Seems to be about the same amount of them but they are bigger. Anyone else out there in Cannaworld notice this?

Never have giving it any thought but since the published yield of this cultivar is pretty high, that would make sense.

I just finally hit some of my latest Banner. It is different. Very calming without the “take off” feeling that I often get in the first 20 minutes.

@SlingShot Interesting. I may try some later, but first my wife and I had to take a couple hits of a small remnant of Death Star that I saved.

To all of those Star Wars fans out there, “May the fourth be with you.”

8 days drying and not done yet. Only lost .06 gr from my lone branch. Maybe tomorrow I’ll see if some of the larfy larf buds are ready to snap off. The main buds have a few days to go yet.

Larfy larf buds are not ready yet. If they won’t snap off, I’ll wait at least another day. It looks like it will be 14 or 15 days.

Finally I have the room at 60 deg F and 60% RH. Lower buds still are not snapping off. The smoke me jar has been calling to me…Oh I hear you.
A few more days, yet.

Happy Mother’s Day to all who qualify; all else call your mothers!

Just a few small buds snapped off today. I took some water leaves off. Looks to be a few days yet before final trim and weigh. The buds still on the plant are going slower than the one that came off at snippy-snip. 4 grams total there, but still 8 main branches before final weigh in. Tried a couple larfy-larf buds in my Evolve D dry herb vape pen. It just didn’t hit me like smoking flower, but was still quite enjoyable…Yay!

35.7 grams of dried and trimmed Banner bud.
See the 3 seeds on there.

I can’t believe how out of focus both of those pics are. They looked just fine without my reading glasses yesterday. I had been sampling the product, though.
So the actual weight is 21.4 gr.; I forgot to subtract the weight of the container (14.3 gr.). 3/4 oz. total.
How did I get seeds? Only 3 so far. Did I have a nanner on one of the really small larfy-larf buds? It was indoors the whole time. The seed on the right is beautiful, actually looks better than the one that grew the plant. Will it grow, and if it does, what will it be? I don’t know, but if it is anything like Alice it will be fire.
Total drying time 14 days. Right on cue, just about the only thing about this grow that didn’t go fast.

That little jar there is my smoke me jar.

10 days curing; not done yet, but smelling nice. I can tell right off that this is going to be one of my favorites of all time. ( If I don’t screw up the cure).

I’d like to take a little time to thank some folks for their help, interest, personalities, likes, and participation in this thread. @MDBuds for his help, advice, and experience. Thank you.
@spudgunner for your humor, @SlingShot for sharing your own grow of this cultivar, and of course personality, @Lynyrdsky for sharing your grow and participation (I wish you were here to photograph mine for me.) Readers check out his Grape Ape Fast Flip for some professional pics and great plants. I wish I could send each of you one of my major buds so you could experience the product first hand. Last but not least a huge thank you to Homegrown Cannabis Co. for making the seeds available foe purchase and this forum.

Glad it’s curing nice.
The good news is that, like wine, it gets better with time.
I did the lid popping 3 or 4 times a day for about two weeks. At first it smelled like lawn clippings. Was not very pleasant and smoked pretty harsh. I vaped some and it wasn’t very nice.
But then the pungent smell subsided and it took on a sweet, mellow aroma. Sometimes I would take it all 4 qt. jars and remove the lids and let them air out for 5 minutes.
The whole room smelled delicious.
Just started 4 strawberry cheesecake autos.

@SlingShot Mine had a diesel aroma the last weeks and drying. Just yesterday the buds changed to a milder almost sweet or fruity scent, quite pleasant. I will try a 100% Banner joint soon for a real taste test, just another week or two more to cure, first.
Enjoy growing your autos. Will you document them?

We just got 6 " rain in three days. Glad I don’t have anything outside!
Got 4 babies going in the tent. They are autos I still had. Once the are well into Veg they go outside. They’ll be in 5 gal. bags sou can put them back in the text for any reason. I just want to use that free sunshine, which we have plenty.
I’m going to do some Banner Photos out there too. I’m shooting for massive trees since I’ll have to wait until October to flip. I just want to see what nature can grow in 15 gal pots.

I’m trying to be a little more discipline in my tracking. I’m pretty lazy and sloppy. Maybe I should do a diary here.

Enjoy your harvest!

I love to hear others plans. I’ll be looking forward to some pics this fall. Enjoy your grow@
Thanks, I will be enjoying …Oh zap! I just enjoyed some right now.
I am taking a break from growing, gotta start using up what I have first. I have tentative plans to repeat this winter’s grow, only with Trainwreck from ILGM, so it probably will be on a different forum. Winter is a long ways away, we’ll see.

Okay D-guy.
I just vaped a bowl of this banner. Wow!! I finally understand why people live this cultivar.
I did a small load and this is a smooth but intense high.
Enjoy your summer
