33 DAYS from seedling

Thank you very much for the info.

Dudes, Dudettes, it is lovely to be able to chat with y’all today. It is also lovely to be chatted at.
Sorry for ending a sentence with a preposition.

I’ve been away from the typewriter for a while (it hurts to sit for long periods of time, and I do get rather long-winded!!!) so I’ll start from today.

Enclosed are pics from Season II of Greg’s Grow, a somewhat altered, multi-dimensional universe.

I am using/have used, FFOF, NLS for autos, Dr. EARTH FLOWER GIRL, WORM CASTINGS, WORM TEA with KELP JUICE, and CAL-MAG in 3 gal bags.

I am using beans from HGCC
(BLUEBERRY X MAZAR AUTO) x 3 & SUPER DENSE AUTO from new429seedguys.

One of the Bluzars and the Super Dense flowered on or about February 28th.
Here are yesterday’s pics.

Above is the Super Dense.

As you can see, I have some issues.
All of these girls are short. I would say very short (about 13 to 19") but I don’t know what is normal for autos in 3 gal pots.
The upper left girl was the last to flower and is also the tallest.

The front left and both girls in the back or top row are BLUZARS. The front or bottom right is the Super Dense.

I’ve amended the soils of all girls with worm castings and early on added the Dr. Earth.

In addition to the same soil, all of these girls have had mostly the same watering day. If the pot felt heavy, and she was tellin’ me it wasn’t time, I didn’t h2o her that day.

The biggest issue(s) is the lack of knowledge and forethought on my part. As this is/was my first grow in soil, we won’t belabor the point. Any comments about my idiocy should be directed to Gary Larson of the Far Side comic strip.

I just found out the other day that I should have been using NON-RO’d & DI’d h2o. I just switched about a week ago.
The h2o issue may account for their short stature.

The upper right bluzar is, I believe having some kinda nute lockout issue, maybe.
The upper left was topped. All of them were LST’d. 3 of the four are sprouting orange pistols abundantly, and I expect the fourth to be forthcoming soon.

As always, your comments are not only appreciated but are welcome. I need a godfather or godmother to these pitiful girls, but please don’t tell them I said that about them.
Peace be unto y’all,
G

No idiocy required. If we don’t try it, we don’t know, you know? I, for one, appreciate your trying.

" The h2o issue may account for their short stature."

Makes sense since their transport systems are much like ours in that we need fluids to transport minerals and an overabundance of vits and mins would cause a clog of some sort. Dwarfism is a deficiency of Vit D for the most part. Speaking from human physiology, of course.

Upper left Bluzar have dill/chamomile growing in there with her? When I grow Spilanthes in with mine, it takes about a week longer to mature than normal, in my experience.

PS: I’m far from an expert, I’m just riffing with you.

Yeah, I think, from what little I’ve read, that all the minerals are sucked outta h20 by the RO, that there is nothing for the soil to draw from, especially crucial during pre-flowering & flowering.
Therefore I believe that I stunted the plants.
If anyone reading this has a corollary experience or a more scientific approach, please learn us.
And yes, it is Dill in the top right plant. I have basil, cilantro, and oregano in the others. I will never do that again.
'Nuff said.
Peace.

 :joy: :upside_down_face: :v:t2:

Now that I’ve entertained you, I want you to know I am embarrassed I am at having to admit my screw up.

I’ve developed a plan for Grow # 3.

  1. To keep it simple stupid.
  2. 2x 5 gal pots & 2x 3 gal pots.
  3. Keep it simple stupid.
4 - infinity. KEEP IT SIMPLE STOOPID.

Thanks for listening.
Peace

I have two repurposed cabinets, about 18 x 30, I am using for auto’s. I start 3 seeds every four to six weeks. One cabinet holds 6 young plants in 1 or two gallon fabric pots. The other holds 3 mature, flowering plants.

The younger plants are under a 600 w LED grow light. The mature plants are under a 1000 W LED light.

If it gets too crowded, I move one to my outdoor greenhouse which currently also houses peppers, Kale and tomatoes.

This set up works well from September through May. Summer may be too hot. We shall see.

Welcome to the forum. Great to have you and your ideas/info on growing.
I am currently growing 4 autos in my cabinet.
Two of my girls are just about done after 10 weeks.
I just received my new tent from AC INFINITY.
I gotta say, even if ac infinity made trashy products (which they don’t, quite the opposite, they make high-quality products) the packaging of their products is better than 90% of the businesses out there.
bottom line, I’ll be able to start growing and harvesting more throughout the year, save for summer.
Peace

I bought a 10 in AC infinity wall mount exaust fan and agree 100% with you on the quality. Definitely top notch.
