Tiny little flies

The fly strip is a great idea! Thank you!! I had around 15 on it in the first 15 minutes it was hanging!!

Fly strips are great, and if you don’t have any, in a pinch a shallow container of molasses will also work. Molasses can only be digested by fruit flies and sugar ants, kills all other pests that tries to digest it.

I put these little cups with molasses ontop of my plants along with diatomaceous earth and spinosad dusting the plants like you did, maybe a bit less (but plants should be fine with that amount). They did a similar job to the fly strips in telling me how many there were, but seemed best to help get the larvae to come out from the top of the soil rather than flying adults.

@Kris Perfect! That’s what we did and we don’t have anymore issues! Whenever eggs hatch they’ll crawl up and essentially be killed by the DE and if any land or try to burrow as it goes beneath the top layer, welp they’ll be done too! Awesome job and I hope your gnat issue is handled!
