Did you take them out of those peat pots when you transplanted? The roots will have a hard time growing thru those, and your plant’s growth will stall out in a couple of weeks once they get rootbound. Those things need to be very wet to begin to break down, too wet for cannabis roots.

Probably not. They get all their nutrient needs from the round set of leaves. You should cover little ones with a clear plastic dome, and mist the insides of it to keep the humidity up, they like it moist when young.
