Pre-filter clogged

Growing in a 4x3, with a 6” in-line fan and carbon filter. All AC Infinity, running 24/7 since December.

I only learned recently, I should be using RO or distilled water in my humidifier. I have been using filtered tap water.

I noticed the carbon filter has not been performing as well in masking smell lately. In looking at the pre-filter, it is just caked with white dusty buildup (minerals from tap water?).

Question:
What would be the best way to fix this? Clean the pre-filter with a vacuum? What about the filter itself, should I vacuum that too?

I plan on doing a full tent cleaning while I’m at it. Including the fan.

I wash mine in machine and let them dry natural. I have used some of these 5 or 6 times before I have to replace them. Disclaimer…do not wash them with your wife’s clothes.:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

you could add vinegar to the wash and that will dissolve the calcium
