I have only recently heard of them and it was on one of Mr. Grow it’s podcasts. I am curious as well, though I will probably stick with jars for the time being.
I like them for the ease of usage. I have a pretty busy schedule this time of year so the set and forget it method is pretty clutch. Once dried just throw them in the bag and walk away… Worth the investment plus they are reusable!
Your right on the dry 1st idea.
I put some in with high rh (70%) and I have to burp to get into the 58-62 range they support.
However, I have loaded in some that were too dry 47-55 and with the help of a Boveda bag they slowly came into range.

Brother . Try 6.0 water with fertalome Do it like this. Water 6.0 then in a few days when the leaves wilt ,as soon as they wilt water with Fertalome 3 &1/2 tblspns. Per gallon of water. Next time feed 50% strength with 6.3, certain plants uptake more at 6.3 let the plant tell you. It may say I need cal mag , or wholly mackerel. The Fertalome use full strength. Add to your medium only it’s not a floral spray. And repeat.In addition I have a small boy water filtration system under the kitchen sink. It didn’t cost me anything on eBay. Keep your eyes out I’ve seen them for $75. It makes a big difference. No sediments to clog the roots. Flush every time on the Fox Farm FEEDING Schedule The Fertalome will give you outrageous rooting results. If your budget allows Azos & Mykos will give you superior rooting results and the roots touching the Mykos will help in nutrient absorption. As far as Fox Farm The ultimate trio can and I have never had any problems with it it’s virtually impossible to kill your plants with it. I let my plants go dry and wilt once or twice it’s life in veg just to let the roots absorb more oxygen.Don’t let them wilt too much! If you have any questions please let me know

FF is excellent nutrients! Anyone that slams it, isn’t using it correctly. I started with FF and had great results. It is fun to switch it up though. I’m currently trying Lotus nutrients cause there was some hype.
