And it begins.... Winter Photos

I planted 3 more photos so they should grow about this same age as your new plants  Hopefully better as the seedling I popped this time just didn’t look good enough to me… I didn’t have their seedling environment set and they were in with my autos with too much light and a couple boxes were still too hot. I should have scraped it out and put new soil in all of the planting spots but was lazy :frowning:

Pretty boring right now but seeing the first signs of sexing at least. Here she is a few days later… Stretching nice including some really nice branches trying to keep up with the tops. Beautiful vegger so far though and as stated in a previous post, she was ready to break out the starting gates… I think she can come close to filling the 5x5 up if she rages through stretch for a couple weeks.

Running lights up to 57% right now and enviro is 78 degrees 53 rh. Tent 5x5x8 with 6’ neg air exhaust… I’ll add a 4" intake later but need it on my dry tent coming up. 7 gal EB with about 10gal stuffed in it. Build a solid lite starting soil in about 1/3 the box. Top dressed with a custom blend of assorted BAS ammendments… Gnarley barley (clackamas coots), alfalfa meal micro big 6, basalt , crustacean meal, fish bone meal, kashi, and CoWoCo castings. Bottom water only (fresh filtered and aerated well water) with an occasion 1/2tsp/gal of Coconut and 1 tsp of aloe. No sweetners!!! …except for the kashi in the dress. Don’t give all your plants that over molasses stank

Hopefully I didn’t go too far with the double tops on the satelites and the triple on the main as she is a strong rancher as well. Looks like she’ll be in her sweet spot for nodal spacing so happy with the lighting right now… But will be dropping the hammer on her in about 10 days…Very excited to see what the SM1000 can do in flower as opposed to the 550s. In a trellis grow I think it’ll suffice as it won’t have to push down as hard as with my auto grows that are not trellised.

Taking down the top dress and guzzling the fresh water like a champ…

Really some pretty stretch in 4 days. Developing some nice thick fans as well on all all the stems.

BTW… The same agers as your Carmelicious  will be the two Mandarin Cookies R3, another Fanta Sea, and the Humboldt Pineapple Muffins as all the freebie Sour D beans were duds.

Looking good, nice we running on the same schedule with a couple strains: trying to run out doors as this is beginning the dry season! I can’t cover the EB due to temperature extremes on the high end. Add some of my Casting to each grow with room for top dress left in each container! Sorry for the duds i can say i have experience the same with some freebies :yin_yang:

Yikes that pretty warm… It’s like 5 degrees at my house. I love growing in the winter

So… Here’s the plants the same age as yours… I put them in 1.5 gal pots with 1 gal of bas lite and about 1 cup of CoWoCo castings and some root wise… They’ll be living there for the next 30-45 days until I get their EBs ready… I will flower them after the new autos are done in the 8x8 using three quads…

In the 1.5s… Two Mandarin Cookies r3, Two Fanta Sea, and 1 Pineapple Muffs (sour d didn’t make it so shell get a quad to herself) or I will give her away and just flower the four across the back 4x8. One of the Fanta sea’s still have not broken through the dirt yet.

The EBs have the new Auto run and all the seeds have popped within the last 5 days so should be just in time as the current autos will be coming down over the next 20 days.

The Auto run should be interesting… doing a Ghost Toof (Ghost train x toof decay) , a Forum Stomper x Toof Decay, Pinot Noir, and Pineapple Runtz in the back 4x8 and Pink Panama x Fugue State and a Pink Panama x Strawberry nugs in the third quad.

Fugue State x Pink Panama (its just such a beaut I couldn’t help myself

That’ll give me 4-6 autos (depending if they make it) for spring before we flower the 4-5 fotos and try to have them done by summer… Then take a couple months off and let the heat pass.

Looking good Robert, so the EB’s basically will be used for stretch & flowering this time around! :yin_yang: Nice idea

Yes… it’s mainly due to space atm and the ebs are not ready yet. I think I will just flower the best four then I can give the MC a whole 4x8 space.

Hey! So… Ten days total but only 3 at 12hrs as I did a transition week at 14.5 plus .5 for sunset/sunrise.

She did get a little “pre” stretch before the stretch. The ends are starting to go 2-4 inches/ day the last couple days. I think I will keep her the rest the way at 12 until finishing. She has a lot of tops and her branching shoots are substantial already. She’s dwarfing the EB and she’s just starting pre flower and showing pistils the last 36 hrs.

So a little longer into stretch with the transition week but when she hits 12 hrs she gets right to it.

An abundance of prime flower spots… Still deciding when to trellis or if I give it a whirl for a while without. She looks like she’ll spread out nice on her own and maybe give her a little support later in flower. She’s supposed to be medium sized indica dominant… But sometimes they stretch big too so we’ll see on the trellis. Im knocking her around pretty good with two fans to keep her stems strengthening just in case we go without.

I love it when is see tips stretching for the light… Ive tuned her to about 800 par in the middle day. That’s an 8ft foot ceiling btw… so plenty of room. @Chasworks notice the foliage… not a deficiency on her… The earth box rocks fotos as well. But still perfect for autos. I was thinking of going auto pot xl for the next fotos in 15gal bags.

Hoping for a good stretch… update when she’s finished reaching and started on some golf balls.

She definitely going to be on the larger side by comparison to the auto’s i think: i am trying to decide if i want to bring my earth boxes out side! Would require me to lift them out of the tent! I know i will get better results if i did so over the white buckets :yin_yang: What do you think? We are just at 11 hrs Sun up to Sun set so they will be switching as soon as they are mature enough

Honestly @Chasworks … if I had your weather I’d probably move them outside. It sucks having to lift the EBs but worth it imo because makes watering a no brainer and easier to top dress in the EB. But I’d wait till you want them to flip.

Yes temps are good here year around! :yin_yang: The heat is higher than they like it & humidity is regularly above 90% over night! The light period is at just 12 hrs Sun up to Sun down right now! A combo of things that makes indoor the best choice! But i keep trying out side & variations of out side: i’ve Veg outside then Flower inside: with the weather being nice but rainy season & dry season makes for hard choices! Pop up showers too: i love the Tropics but it is a challenge to get the best out of each genetics! To hot & not long enough light period for auto’s out side, definitely cuts down on their production & performance. Buy more EB could be solution also :joy::joy::joy:

Day 8 at 12h.

Still no trellis  but it may be coming out soon as she seems to be just getting started.

24 hrs later and a small defol to free up the middle so it don’t get left behind. Other than that she spreading out enough to keep the trellis off her for now. I need another 12 inches out of her… More than that I will need to trellis to support her… I did raise the SM 1000 about another foot .

Welp… I guess we trellis … She still stretching a lot and definitely be a lot of work late in flower supporting her. It is what it is… She may not fill an entire 5x5 but when the branching is done coming through… she’d probably at least crowd a 4x4. Not too shabby for a medium sized strain… About how I like them indoors.

Unfortunately, but not surprisingly, I did beat her up a little while getting her tied down. Duck tape on hand :). I did take some clones off her to give away… Maybe i’ll keep one.

Branching starting to come through after a day of slow down with the trellis.

Still looking like she wants to stretch the ends a bit so could be a lengthy one but next week the intensity gets ratcheted up a bit and that should get her into full stacking.

Definitely with the slightly longer lights on time (12.5) plus the 30 mins for sunrise/sunset the stretch time has been successfully long. Although I would like to stretch out the back right and front corners a little more, I decided to increase intensity 10% along with changing the spectrum for full stacking. She also had the transition week at 15hrs… so she’s technically been moving into flower for over 3 weeks and I think I have another week of good stretch. I will take all the way to finishing at the 13hr total including sunrise/sunset and the last couple weeks we will go to 12 and 11 as the spectrum goes into finishing.

Branching now coming up through the middle and some shoots really just starting to stretch.

Took her a couple days to rise above the net

Im a bit careless sometimes… I’ll leave her casted for another week or so and she should be good.

Perspective from outside the tent with about 700watts pushing down right now… she’s fixing to get roasted as she’s going to about 900 over the next 10 days. Ill drop the lights enough to push around 1400-1700 ppfd

@chaseworks I grow photos so rarely now I forget what I want to do next… The top dress from pre stretch is still in there so maybe another week? Or maybe I just micro dose all the way through flower? decisions decisions.

Okay she is definitely ending her stretch other than elongating the top nodal spacing a bit. I’ve allowed all the branching that was going to stretch through to do so… if it hasn’t done so by now it would never catch up anyways.

I defoliated this morning and moved a few stems around to give her plenty of room to stack her stems. I decided to lollipop everything below the top 4-6 nodes. She was just trying to grow way to bushy underneath and with was even beginning to get a few nanner clusters where she was real crowded and irritated underneath… So a massive grooming and thorough inspection to make sure the nanners were isolated to where the fan was on her and a quick check for light leaks… All is good and she’s starting to form perfectly beautiful golf balls.

I think she is now a much more appropriate size for the container volume.

After grooming… Plenty of space and light to chunk out on top

Bottom 2/3’s is history

Here comes the nugs

We’ll see how she looks in a couple weeks. I thinking about a 6 week flower and finish starting tomorrow on her new lighting.

Temp/RH - Rh is set to 50 percent. Temps are low 65 at coldest and 78-82 during day.
Lights: CL Spectramax 1000. Variable intensity and spectrum peaking at about 1400ppfd across the apex of the canopy.
Tent: 5x5x8 GGT with
Circulation/ exchange: ACI 6" with Carbon negative air. 3 6" oscillating clip ons.
GGT High CFM bars and ACI trellis net.

Fanta Sea (Wedding Cake x Triangle Kush x Mandarin Cookies x Grandpas Cookies) 4 weeks into light change.

Not much going on… She really smells and stacks like mandarin cookies… It generally seems to dominate the crosses a bit. Stacks very golf ballsy… Not huge but super dense and smells very sweet with that hit of mandarin. Very nice medium sized strain if you’re height limited.

If she’s anything like the MC she’ll chunk up nice coming home with some pine cones on top.

Other than the big top dress pre stretch she’s gone bottom water only with some occasional aloe, coconut, and cow cal. She’ll only get the calcium for about another week and the coconut/aloe for about 2-3 weeks more. Here foliage is still perfectly healthy and she seems to have plenty in the box last time I dug around.

From the top… Foliage is nice… one of the advantages of trellis is I can keep more fans. At the extra hour of light she was really slow into and through strectch but she is settled in nice now and guzzling about 1.5 gal per day.
