Transplanting from 2 gallon pots

My plants have started to bud and the roots are coming out the bottom, how many days do I go without water before transplanting? I’m taking them from 2 gallon pots to 4 gallon pots . Is this going to hurt the plants?

@sweetnsassy are they autoflowers or photoperiods?

They were feminized seeds

@sweetnsassy yes but are they autoflower seeds or are they photoperiod seeds? Photoperiods are normal seeds that you have to switch to 12/12 to flower. Autos will flower on their own.

@sweetnsassy then transplant wouldn’t hurt. I would water about 2 to 3 days before transplant so the soil is still moist but not extremely dry so when you pull it out of the pot it keeps its form and doesn’t fall apart from being too wet or too dry. Pruning the roots under the pot before pulling for a repot will help too so you don’t have to struggle with the roots getting tangled in the drainage holes.
