Should I start trimming?

Hello everyone. This is my very first attempt to grow, so I’m watching a lot of YouTube videos and reading books on how to grow good cannabis. These plants were seeds August 18th and they are growing pretty fast. Should I start trimming off the bottom nodes now or wait another week or two? I’m still just watering using spring water, so I haven’t added any nutrients yet. The ph of the water is 6.2- 6.7, which I’m thinking it ok because I used Happy Frog and Ocean Feasts for my soil. Trim or not to trim?

They look great! I don’t think I’d do any node pruning - I’d want to develop all of those into tops.

What I would to, is take the tallest main top, and bend it over and tie it down to bring it close to even with the other nodes. Then the plant will develop them more equally.

I wasn’t sure about bending them yet because some of the bottom nodes are so small. I’m just worried about messing this up by doing to much to soon. I was also thinking about adding some see weed extract to my water every other watering. I see where Kyle Kushman used it is one of his YouTube videos.

Thank you for the advice.

no pruning this early…they are old enough to top / fim but that depends on the strain…are they photo period or autoflowers? Looks like 3 gal pots…just water at least until flower or late veg if they are photos…they will tell you

They’re autos from hgcc. I’m just amazed at how fast they are growing.

do not trip…no need to bend either if the tent is at least 6ft tall. If you have a short tent, you will need to LST them…just to stop vertical growth so they fit under the lights (12-18 inches space from light to plant…min 12’ stretch when flowering begings

My grow tent is an AC Infinity 36”x36”x72” so I think I have enough room. You can tell I’m an excited newbie  I really appreciate this forum for the helpful advice. Thank you.

Trellis netting can also come in handy starting weeks 5-8. (depending on growth) Happy growing!

I just got the trellis netting in the mail today, so I’m ready when it’s time to use it in a couple of weeks.

I’d go ahead and install the net before you’re ready to use it. I agree you can bend them over in lieu of topping. What I did to create anchor points was poke a paper clip type wire through the hem of the pots in four places around the rim, thread the paper clips through each hole, and use them as anchor points for pipe cleaners. Just be careful to create gentle hooks with the pipe cleaners, like a walking cane shape, and don’t pinch the stems. Pinching a stem and you’ll strangle it. I did and got lucky, created four tops the hard way. If you end up with four “arms” each gently tied at the compass points of the pot, you’ll get good light penetration and be able to use the net or not as they grow.

What I think you should do, and I’ve been growing for 50 years inside and out is keep doing what your doing. Since its your first grow, don’t hover and micro manage. If you want to try some light lst ok, but get a couple of grows under your belt befor1e you do anything fancy… Good luck.

Thank you. I never knew growing for the first time would be so much fun and exciting. I’m retired and don’t get out much, so this is helping me stay busy and keeps me focused on something else besides politics. I just want to chill.
