I tend to harvest WAY too early. This is a late growing outdoor plant (Chemdog #4). I think it’s ready to harvest but wanted ya’lls opinion:
Still lots of white pistils. They will turn red/orange and recede into the bud, then start looking at the trichomes.
But I’d say at least 2 more weeks, maybe 3. How is your weather looking for the next couple? I know my season ended a couple weeks ago, rain started and will last until January!
Coastal SoCal, so cool but sunny days (mid 60’s-low 70’s) but cooler evenings. Last night went down to mid 40’s but we never get frost here.
I assume the cooler temps will slow down the maturing process of the buds a little bit, but it’s also killed off the moths that like to lay eggs and the caterpillars that like to eat the buds.
Bud rot shouldn’t be much of an issue since we aren’t yet in rainy season.
I’ll let 'em go a while longer.
Thanks for the input!
It seems like your plant might need more time before harvest. The white pistils mean it’s not ready yet—once they turn red or orange and shrink back into the bud, that’s when you should start checking the trichomes. If the weather stays nice for the next couple of weeks, you can let it grow a bit longer for a better harvest!
About 3-4 more weeks. They’re going to be fat buds.
