Looks like you made out pretty well , good job . I got the same from my big Bruce Banner . In all I ended up with around 100 grams between 4 plants , not really good. I messed up at the end , judging by picking up the grow bag I thought she had water at the bottom . What I found out afterwards it was basically dust down there but chuck full of roots. So I was feeling the weight of the whole plant plus the roots , not water lol. Lesson learned . This run I switched over to organic soil and am growing some Granddaddy Purple autos .
Please stop using those packsâŚthey are no bueno. But you donât have to believe me. Happy Growing!!
Why though? I have only ever read and heard good things about these. I also use those with higher humidity to store my cigars.
I and many others have found that it negatively impacts the smell and tasteâŚin fact they disappear completely at times. I only use them now if I have severely overdried my budâŚwhich is almost never. I am always watching new videos and listening to podcasts. I have listened to all 109 of Mr. Grow Itâs Garden Talk and would recommend them very much. I am currently on my 50th podcast by Tad Hussey who is the owner of KIS Living Soil and hosts the Cannabis Cultivation and Science podcast. The videos I am watching right now are all the videos in the Build a Soil collection and am currently on season two. Jeremy Silva is the guy who makes these videos and he is super knowledgeable on a lot of different subjects. Though I quit using the packs before watching thisâŚit may be compelling enough to make you change your mind. This is just what I have found and he shares the same opinion. This is the link to the video if you want to check it out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLH38irfQrE Hope this helps! Happy Growing!
Thanks for the info, i will look into it for sure!
Iâm new to this forum and to those boveda stat packs and I like both. I read about those things about 6 months ago and got some of the 58 & 64 percent packs. I have weed that has been in with those pack since June and it smokes and taste great. I would rather lose some smell than lose a whole jar of weed to mold, been there done that. Everybody find their own way in this hobby so enjoy your harvest and future grows.
This right here was exactly what i thought when i decided to use Boveda packs. I will look into possible negative effects though, still it looks to me like the pros outweigh the cons.
An ACI 4â exhaust, ACI humidifier. ACI controller and some distilled water. Seems pretty easy to dry at 60% rh. temps may vary a little but the rh is more important.
Sometimed have a plant I just donât care and Iâll quick dry. Any primo herb is being preserved at 60 percent slow dry.
Itâs so easy, why wouldnât you?
Sorry but there is nothing either easy or cheap in here, i would also need a dehumidifier because there were times the humidity was above 60%.
Please keep in mind not all of us here in the forum live in the US and both availability and cost can be deal breakers.
Sorry, I figured most growers on this forum would have basic equipment for growing⌠ie. An inline fan, an oscillating fan, and a humidifier. Pretty basic stuff no matter where you live. Doesnât matter the brandâŚ. I donât know maybe they only sell stuff like that in the USA.
You donât need a dehumidifier⌠Thatâs what the in-line fan is for.
Donât like them as it definitely changes the taste of herb. Dry to 60-62% properly and jar it with little air in the jar. Iâm gonna smoke it or give it away long before it needs to be hydrated.
If you need a little moisture just a little piece of leaf or tortilla works just fine and doesnât ruin the flavor and smell of the herbâŚ. Not that boveda packs smell bad⌠I just rather smell the herb.
I mean, i dont have that equipment and i have 40 grams of weed here, which i have grown, harvested ,dried and cured myself. So what you described is really not the most basic equipment for growingâŚ
If your intention is to help beginners i would suggest discouraging people who canât, for one reason or another, get their hands on specific equipment is not the way to go.
Wait⌠you have an inline fan, a clip fan and a vivoson tent⌠and live in a humid warm environment. So you likely have everything needed to maintain close to 60rh. With AC you managed the temp as much as you could but that is not as important as rh. Humidifier would come in handy later in dry or in an arid climate.
It would be easier with a controller for the inline fan that can be set to kick on at the desired high rh. But even without the controller it could be managed with basic timers or without. A pretty important (not necessary) tool to maintain your environment throughout the growâŚ. So still recommend all growers invest the less than $100 on Amazon to get one. Pretty difficult to maintain a consistent environment without it. This is just basic stuff my man ⌠sorry if youâre discouraged by the basic equipment needs for consistent indoor grows. These may vary on climateâŚ. Like humidifier or dehumidifier.
You only had one plant and it was fairly lightâŚ.so even in a small tent you have your inline at speed 1-2 depending on room rh as youâre not getting much wicking. By day 3 you probably are off with the inline as long as room rh isnât too high. Iâm guessing it was a pretty fast dry by herself with only 40g on her. Itâs a basically who gives a flip on a one ounce plant anywaysâŚ. But when you have some serious herb drying, youâre gonna wanna do it right.
woww, I really like it. Thank you for sharing this.
Iâm gonna try to do the same.
Congratulations on harvesting your first plant! Your setup sounds good for drying. The temperature of around 26°C (78.8°F) and humidity of 45% to 50% are ideal conditions for drying marijuana. Just make sure thereâs good air circulation inside the tent to prevent mold and to dry the plant evenly. Youâre on the right track!
