NPK values (nitrogen, phosphate, potassium)

With organic dry kelp, I mist 3 times daily outdoors. Indoors 1, before lights on
Ph runoff in soil s an extremely hard thing to do. I usually will remove soil from container, add my water (ph 6.8), shake many times for a day or 2, then let it settle and test that. So many things affect ph (air, co2, time, reaction to substrate) that ph test strips seem to work BEST
Storing solutions…It is never a problem until it is a problem. If bacteria sets off a catalytic response, too late for you to do anything. I mix 1/2 tsp in a spray bottle…I use that bottle with a day or 2. Wash and redo.
Aeration…to add O2 to the SUBSTRATE. Roots LOVE OXYGEN…NEED it to properly function, more than anything else. It also CHANGES Ph…
For auto feeding, I used to aerate my reservoir…Too many issues (gunk, slime, algae, etc…) so I just water. I use a 5 gal pail for outdoors and leave my stone in it. Indoors, I use a 1 gal and aerate 20 min before use…most of the time. Sometimes I am just too lazy…this is supposed to be fun, not ALL WORK

@KriZm you can adjust the kelp and the molasses to get the ph you desire up to 2 tbsp each every 2 to 4 weeks. Molasses is ph down and kelp is ph up. Just work it to find the balance that works for you.

The mix I use works for me because I use distilled water or if I use dechlorinated tap my tap ph is 6.8. So my watering ph with the 1 tsp molasses, 1 tsp liquid kelp, 1 tsp vegamatrix boost, and 1 tsp vegamatrix prime zyme usually comes in between 6.3 and 6.5. Sometimes it comes in around 6.8 and 7 but that’s still good. You just have to make sure to check your ph.

Liquid kelp is a great foliar feed, but I personally only foliar feed with it in veg. During flower I only water with it because I don’t want to wash my buds at harvest to rinse off any residues of foliar feedings on the buds. It will change the taste in two ways though. It will increase terpenes which will make the bud smell and taste more potent, and if not rinsed before harvest you can get a harsh smoke that’s slightly bitter tasting from the organic residues left on the buds if foliar fed in flower.

How would you rinse the buds at harvest?

Thank you for the info all!

@KriZm it depends on why you need to wash but if it’s just to rinse off organic foliar sprays just plain distilled water works. I mist the plants each day for about a week before harvest. Start with a heavy misting to where you can see a small amount of water dripping off the buds and mist a little bit less each day. You can do the dunking method too but I don’t like to do it myself because I don’t like hanging my plants up to dry that wet. Make sure you have the fans going good to dry them off to avoid getting any mold or mildew.

First round of LST for the 2 girls that are doing wonderfully. The runt is growing a tiny bit and the other is striving. The two front ones are from some GSC I had.

When do you usually start LST and/or Topping/Fimming (HST)

How often do you mist your fertilizer in the dark period?

How often do you feed your girls?

18/6, 20/4, or 24 straight during veg?

What are your favorite materials to work with when doing LST?

When do you start cleaning up your fan leaves for airflow?

Is there anything you see wrong with my grow?

Have an awesome rest of your weekend everyone and have

happy girls, happy smoke, happy you

I use a solution a friend and myself have been developing using a nano Particle colloidal micelle solution for mites / gnats / bugs and one of the side effects is ELIMINATING MILDEW and CLENSING… It is organic100% organic. Non-gmo. There’ s a trace amount of potassium bicarbonate (wine reduction agent) for ph adjustment, but less than .001% by volume. The mold and cleansing capabilities are a “value added” accompaniment, even and especially airborne…I use it to wash, I have not personally had mold issues to deal with but our development site cured it (before it tunneled through the bud/s). When I have a FULL DRYING session and/or high humidity, I spray the harvest to prevent mold during dry time. Another byproduct is protection from weather extremes, they “attract” water by their very nature (hydrophillic) so that’s going to help keep the plant moist during times of drought and heat stress, and they effectively lower the freezing point. (more concentration, lower it even more) So instead of ice forming on the surface of the leaves at say 32f, it’s going to be 20, or 10, or perhaps as low as 0, depending on the concentration, much like antifreeze works.
Use is about 15ml per gal of water…foliar spray, drench solution for washing, watering solution for soil-borne infestations / temperature protection. The effigy for mold is around 2 weeks
I have not put it up for sale yet but intend to in the near future. Buds / plants can be submerged in it to CLEANSE and they will be mold proof for the 2 week period. I am hoping to sell this to commercial growers who fail their lab tests becasue of RESIDUES…I will make it available to HGC members as some of them are serving as my test beds and providing documentation
You can rinse with distilled water as MDBuds says but usually there is a reason you want to WASH your harvest…not a standard practice

Well, LST turned into (Ifuckedmyplantup) the main stem snapped about halfway. I noticed it when a leaf wasn’t looking right. Super unfortunate and I wanted to punch holes in the wall but I think she’ll do just fine. Sad losing all of that growth :smirk:.

Don’t what to show pics :pleading_face:

wow bummer, did you try to splint the stem? i know sometimes that works & sometimes not so much.

Yea, once I realized that it had split, too much time had elapsed so I don’t think it would have stuck with that part. It was still attached but barely, and I didn’t believe enough to provide the nutrients or even the correct amount of water flow to that portion. I made the decision to snip the rest and call it a loss.
I haven’t been that angry in a long time :smirk:

I just need to keep in mind that this is a learning process and all strains have their (snapping point)
Just hoping she doesn’t Herm out if that’s even possible with femenized seeds.

I even wanted to attempt to use it as a clone but I just didn’t feel like dealing with it, the stem and straw was too fat but I did just take a cutting to give it a whirl. What do you guys put on the bottom of your clones stem for optimal root growth ?

I pulled it out and apologized :relieved: I wonder if they can hear us :grimacing:

So you know, in the future you can reattach / bandaid, tape, glue, anything else to try and put / hold / the stem back in place…I have even used Elmers glue, paper tape, splints (toothpicks with paper mache wrapped around them and baggie ties to hold the top / /bottom of the contraption

i know fem seeds can herm, but yours may not. a few years ago i tried growing in a basement with very little knowledge it was feminized kira white thunder. I grew several with cloning, they all hermed on me, but the weed was great after cleaning the seeds.I know i made every mistake in the book several times. so now im trying it again a 2 x 2 x 5 tent with a mars ts 1000 & some closet space all in an out building.

Yes I made the decision to snip it since it had been to long since I noticed it had split and the size of the split, it just wouldn’t have done well from my knowledge so far but they are suppppper resilient. I believe she’ll do just fine. Shit, maybe I accidently figured something out by topping it halfway down the plant lol, highly doubtful but she’ll be fine.

I’m currently working on an automatic misting system.

I believe the pump I’m using isn’t pumping enough so I ordered one and when I get it working I will show you guys.

My watering system is up and running when I want it. Is there a place to post videos on here? Such a low upload limit.

If you have any local farmers in your reach, ask if they make a soil consisting of their horse manure, goat manure, chicken manure, composting…exc , i was lucky enough to have a local farmer who makes such a soil that you never need chemicals. Give it a try and Happy Growing.
