Naturally Occurring PolyPloid Buds - Safe to smoke?

Have one for the first time in my grow. Letting mature like the others. Safe to smoke or should I throw out. Lots of information online and confused.

Thanks!

I’m sorry don’t have any answers as I have never seen this before, but perhaps @MDBuds can enlighten you. I am interested in getting more information on it as well, something to keep in the back of my head.

@Keith0416 polyploidism is naturally occurring but it can also be caused by certain chemicals that have been used in breeding. Colchicine specifically is toxic and first generation plants from seeds bred with mothers that Colchicine was used on should not be consumed. Second generation and beyond should be safe though if the polyploidy was chemically induced.

Just talk to the breeder of the plant and see if Colchicine was used or if it was a naturally occurring polyploid.

Thank you. The seeds came from HGGC. I believe are naturally occurring. I will reach out to them for advice and again, thank you!
