Hey yall! First timer. I’ve got a small growtent with 1 auto seedling to start out. I have a 1000w square LED with 2 switches that flip between White light and Red light (veg and flower) which can also be both flipped on for what I guess is called full spectrum (both white and red together). I have a 20/4 schedule going. Do just keep the white light during seedling and switch to red when time for flowering? do I flip both and go full bore from seedling to harvest?

What make and model light?
Mine says 2000w but is only 200. 1000 true Watts would be too much for small tent. And inefficient. I have a 70cm2 and use a phlizon 2022. £130 and not bad. Only in small tent tho. How big is your tent
It would depend on stretch too. Blue/white till wk3 then full spectrum. Are you training at all?
If first time can I offer some tips. Sorry if I patronise.
Plant seed in final pot. Transplant will reduce yield.
Lollypop bottom bud sites and leaves.
Use lst. Limit hst.
Try a net or garden wire to tie branches down.
Try get canopy level. Like an inverted triangle
Get nutrient advice
Feed at quarter to half recommended dose from wk2.
Having a look at the light and the more powerful one is only 35 dollars. I’m in the UK tho.
Unless in a very small space I can’t see this being powerful enough but I don’t know that.
If funds allow I’d go and get a better one suited for your area. What is your area and have you reflective sides? Mine is just OK and says 3’x3’ 2000w tho it’s 200w. It was 125£ so you’ll have to convert. Lumatec looked OK mid range £2-300. Then you have mars, spider farmer, hlg look the best but again goes on growing size. Only one plant not need much. I’d get some seeds bought too. If you have room you can be vegging some photos when your auto if finishing. Give you a great head start for next grow. It will be better I promise. And it’s up and up from here. Some masters have less than a decade experience.
