Lacewing in the milkweed

Isn’t it great how nature can lend a helping hand, without the use of neem oil or chemicals? These plants are mostly for monarchs, they won’t lay eggs and caterpillars aren’t the healthiest when using products like neem oil. Green lacewing is known as the aphid lion, especially in larvae stage!

Cool! I’ve got sort of the opposite happening to a plant that’s along the paths where we walk the dogs. I should get a picture.

There’s a colony of ants that appear to be farming some aphids. The ants are crawling around the plant checking on them and tending to them. It’s kinda gross but kinda interesting too.

Some hungry, hard working buggers. I just wish they didn’t eat blossoms also. Such a great predatory insect.
