How To Get Rid Of Spider Mites

Good morning Mike! My daughter had her first outdoor grow. First she had aphids…ordered 1500 ladybugs to help with that issue. Now….she put her plants in the garage for the two days of dark before harvesting…and she found tiny spider webs!! I can share the solution you sent me but what would you recommend for applying the solution?

Thanks…and I hope things are going well for you!

Kris…my solution will take care of what is in the soil…just spray the soil with a fresh mixed batch
as far as what is on the plant/s…switch the mist to a harder spray…add a few drops of dawn dishwash liquid…it will stick and make them dry out. You want to pretty much use it like a hose and wash off the mites and webs.
and
here are options - a little vinegar / or lemon juice…the acidity will help dry out the buggers. Cayenne pepper…be careful…I use a baby snot sucker bottle and puff puff …
the vinegar works better than lemon juice as it also acts as a repellent
the pepper just burns the sht out of them

I’m dying of laughter over here at this reference. It’s perfect. Pardon my intrusion. :v:

Found this little guy on my milkweed today! I was just looking at mantis eggs too. Good for eating bugs! He isn’t even an inch long yet.

Thanks Mike….geeze….I have plants about 2-3 weeks from harvest and I looked through the jewelers loop today and saw some brownish/red spots….I looked closer at it freaking moved! Grrrrr. …if I use the vinegar, please explain. Do I make a week solution of vinegar and water and spray the plant, buds and all?

LOL…yeah, I had to read that a couple times….

I have no hearts left for the day, so it’s all words from here.

I said “baby snot sucker bottle” out loud.:joy:

you mix my solution at the minimum recommendation. In a quart spray bottle (28-34 oz), add 2/3 drops of dish soap, 3 drops of vinegar…spray at sundown, directly on buggers. Use the eyedropper from my bottle, then RINSE it, let it dry before putting it back on the bottle. Shake you spray bottle and spray directly on the insects, undersides of the leaves. No cayenne pepper on the buds…

Thank you. I’ve tried to do some research on what to use but everything seems to say not to use on the buds. When I saw the little freaking critters they were on the sugar leaves. :(.

my solution works on the buds…it will not harm them

Might be not the smartest question for you Mike……can you use during harvest? It has worked great for preventative means (foliar) otherwise.

Thanks again Mike! It’s great to have something that is safe to use

YES…anytime…all the way. I even spray my CUT buds so they do not mold during DRYING…I like to dry in my fridge…at little cold, a little humid so I spray my buds, place on plates in the fridge. When I have very thick / dense buds, I run a pc fan attached to a usb connector to a 5v power supply. The wire is small / thin enough for the door to close and seal

Mike, please repeat your formula… I see that you suggested using the minimum but I’ll be darned I’d I can find your formula again! Sorry to be such a pain

1qt is 32 oz, 1/4th of a gal so 3.75ml pr qt recommended or 7.5 full strength
Solution ratio =

0.1171875 x number of ounces of water – results is ml…

Eg 28 oz x .1171875 = 3 and ¼ ml or about a 10th of an ounce (.11)…you will need a ml cup or syringe with ml markings

A standard eyedropper dispenses 0.05 ml per drop, meaning there are 20 drops in 1 milliliter
